This lifelong sailor is piloting a 30ft 12,500lb sailboat backwards through an unforgiving course in one of the tightest marina spaces on the Lake. He earned his International Sailing License from us yesterday. Headed to Italy in May to safely charter a 44’ sailboat with his family. Call us if you want to do the same someday… “Carl successfully completed a Mediterranean bareboat SLC assessment, demonstrating strong competence in vessel handling under power and sail, including Mediterranean mooring, docking, and close-quarters maneuvering. He showed good judgment, situational awareness, and command presence throughout. Assessed as capable of operating a bareboat charter vessel in Mediterranean-style environments.”

Had to squeeze into some tight waters in Stinking Creek last night to get guests to a Christmas Party… Avoid the Chapin traffic and take the ferry.

Waiting out the storm with @lakemurraycountry - Purple Martin sailing tour.

Working the night shift. Among other sensors, we use the latest night vision technology to clear our route home after the purple martin tours, or for our night fishing charters. For those boaters running at top speed with no lights, after a few Buds, we see you. 😂

Lake Murray Yacht Racing Association holds an overnight race during the June full moon. Here is one shot from the Pilot Cove Catalina30 after rounding the mark at Bomb Island… Total distance is about 25 miles on the short course; the race committee selects the course before the start of the race based on the wind forecast. Last night was the first in a the past three years where the winds were high enough to reach hull speed, the limit of the hull design through the water.
